Environmental Project Manager

Our client is a well-established energy company who have been active since the 1970s and operate out of Australia and the UK. They have significant assets in Australia and are currently seeking an Environmental Project Manager to lead a site rehabilitation project from pre-start to completion, which is expected to be mid-2025.

The role will be responsible for planning, procuring, and contracting the services and contractors required to undertake the activities on-ground with the purpose of achieving the end land use, objectives, and proposed completion criteria within the targeted time frame.

About the Role:

  • Drive delivery of all relevant activities required under the Rehabilitation Environment Plan, meeting all conditions and requirements.
  • Lead corporate & regulatory reporting of project progress to relevant government agencies, stakeholders, and the community as required.
  • Procure and manage consultants and contractors to deliver required outcomes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with relevant regulations and approvals.
  • Engage with external stakeholders such as regulatory authorities, local communicates and landowners.
  • Act as a Company representative on site and to other companies, contractors, government bodies, and stakeholders.
  • Office-based (Perth CBD) with occasional travel required to site (within a 3 hour drive of Perth CBD).

About You:

  • Strong understanding of environmental science principles, ecosystems, and ecological restoration.
  • Experienced Project Manager in environmental or rehabilitation context, ideally with an Environmental Science background or similar.
  • Operations-focused with an acute appreciation for detail, process, and execution.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant local and state environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to site rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and practices, particularly within environmental projects.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required for presentations, and report/proposal drafting.
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are required.
