This is a newly created position due to company growth with plenty of work in the pipeline, allowing you to step in, make it your own, and contribute to the company’s success.
We are seeking multiple experienced Schedulers / Estimators who can accurately quantify building materials and costs for construction projects.
You will be responsible for supporting the Construction Manager, as well as measuring and calculating the quantity and cost of building materials and work scopes, preparing budgets and quotes, managing specifications, raising purchase orders, reviewing architectural and engineering drawings, and developing successful relationships with key stakeholders.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Possess 6+ months in a scheduling role and 2+ years of estimating experience in the residential building sector in Perth, working directly for a builder or property developer.
- Have demonstrated skills in the single-story first-home-to-last homeowners’ market. Commercial and unit developments are advantageous
- A Certificate or Diploma in Building and Construction. (Desirable)
- A strong understanding of the WA housing and building process, including codes, differing classifications, and building types.
- Demonstrated skills in material quantity take-offs, procurement, and costing, including budget estimates, variations, and contract pricing.
- Have an intimate knowledge of differing building products and associated rates.
- A positive “can do” attitude and a strong team orientation.
- Possess high work standards and have a good eye for detail.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have a flair for construction, a desire to work with numbers, and solid organisational skills. You will possess strong people skills and be able to communicate effectively in both a written and verbal manner. Previous experience maintaining and setting up price books and company systems and procedures will be viewed as favourable.
